What is this resource?

The Housing Assessment and Resource Agency (HARA) is a centralized access point in Michigan that provides intake, housing assessments, and referrals for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. HARA uses a community wide approach to connecting people with housing resources and working to rapidly re-house those in need. They employ specialists who assess housing needs, provide case management, and connect individuals to appropriate services or programs. By coordinating with local agencies and using a standardized process, HARAs streamline access to emergency shelter, prevention assistance, and long-term housing solutions.
