What is this resource?
Gleaners offers food support to those in need, in the form of physical food pantry locations, mobile pantry distributions, and food resources available for seniors, children, schools in need, and the greater communities of Livingston, Oakland, Wayne, Monroe, and Macomb county. The organization also offers nutritional education programs through classes, recipes, and cooking demonstrations, along with guidance on applying for SNAP EBT benefits. Gleaners collaborates with healthcare providers such as Henry Ford Health System to address food insecurity’s impact on health, working to combat the issue by offering home-delivered nutritious food and educational resources. Additional programs, including Meet Up and Eat Up, the Summer Food Service Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, ensure children, seniors, and families have reliable access to nutritious meals year-round.
